For the Love of Internet

We began with a premise that many people might not have considered: that the Internet is more to you than a tool. You wake up with it, go to sleep with it, tell it your deepest secrets. Like it or not, you're in a relationship with the Internet.

We want to know what all of these relationships look like. We aim to discover how people relate to the Internet and use what we learn to help shape its future. Hopefully you'll find our results both useful and just plain cool — after all, the Internet's a place for knowledge, but also for whimsy.

Answers we uncover should better inform the research, development, and design that continue to push digital advancements even further. So go ahead and dig into our data! We encourage you to download the comprehensive set of numbers and conclusions we're collecting to inform this project.

The data on this website is based on more than 100,000 respondents to our ongoing survey. The initial respondents ranged in age from 18-65+ and they completed the survey between July 27 and October 6, 2015. The survey has a margin of error of plus or minus 5%.

Onward, Internet is a project of the National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA) representing the Internet's builders and many of its content creators. The Internet is for everyone. And we're here to inspire its future in America.
